You may not recognize the background... it's the bachelor pad. I don't get to go there very often since I kinda prefer Kimberly's place. However, tonight I'm getting kicked out for a few hours due to my rather poor behavior during the last meetings she held in our abode.

Sooo. I'm here. I got a bone and a few chew toys. This place is kinda small, but I think I can do something with it. I definitely dig the extra noise out on the street (sounds BUSY!).

Ok, one of them's hard to see, but trust me there's only 2. Now, assuming there's one for Tim and one for Kimberly, that leaves exactly zero for me and the cats. Not that I care about the cats, mind you, but if lobbying on their behalf scores me a sock that will be filled with cheesebones and rawhide chews on the 25th, I'll swallow hard and promote a pro-feline agenda.

I think I'm in campaign mode from watching all the CBC coverage of the elections. Remember my Canadian ties? Um, still waiting for that appointment letter Mr. President...

Hung out at Mitchell Park again today... it was a bit warmer out and wicked muddy from all the rain last night. I hear through the grapevine (ok, ok... the Weather Channel. I'm a little more sophisticated on the meteorological issues) that we're gonna get some snow on Monday night. That's cool... I was a mere pup last time I saw any decent snow, so it should be cool (heh) to see some flakes in the air. I scored myself a new coat to keep the chill out, and luckily it's free of pink, frillies and other things I'm not as fond of. In other words... Tim had input in the selection.

I'm doing better now that I got over the initial shock of hearing the words "you have," "a polyp," and "on your butt" in the same sentence. People... seriously, it's all ok. I plan on taking the meds (I get the pills hidden in Velveeta... I highly recommend taking your pills that way) and of course the bum spray. It's all good.

Hey, we have a new friend of the blog. Her name's Michelle and she's got me featured over on her MySpace account... so check it out. Tim's podcast is mentioned too, but whatever... we all know I carry that show.

Kimberly taught hip hop yoga tonight... Tim went and it looks like he survived her brutal teaching methods. I believe he said it only hurts when he moves. Right on...

So, things were getting a bit uncomfortable, um, "back there." So we went to the vet and had something called an anal expression done. It was not fun. I tell ya one thing... if Madonna meant "Express Yourself" this way, I'm reconsidering my support for her music.

I fully expect extra treats for going through this horrible thing...

Medical update - it's officially gross now. Apparently it's a polyp. My bum now gets sprayed twice a day and I take 2 pills. Merry friggin Christmas!

When there's a little extra time for Tim and Kimberly to hang with yours truly, a dog park is usually involved. I like Thanksgiving better than Floo as far as holidays go. On the Friday after the big day (yes, I scored some turkey in my bowl, thank you very much for asking) we went off to a dog park in Adams Morgan. It's the only legal one in DC, so I didn't get the rush of breakin' the law, breakin' the law. Still, check out the coolness.

Now, afterwards I managed to get in some shut eye. It's tough work being a pug.

The floo

I learned a new word over the course of the last couple of days... it's something called "the floo." I think it must be some kind of holiday, cause Tim was home from work for two straight days and did nothing but sleep and sing funny songs that had lots of lyrics like "Oh my God I think I'm gonna die" and "somebody get the name of that truck who hit me" and "I feel terrible." Not happy songs, but he kinda sang them a lot.

Unlike other holidays where there are presents and good food, "the floo" seems to revolve completely around tea with honey and anything with Vitamin C. Hmmm. I like the candy from Halloween, personally, but whatever.

The Floo... I think it's one strange holiday.

Nanny Weekend 2: Electric Boogaloo

So, with my parental abandonment in effect (Kimberly in Miami, Tim in L.A.), I have the pad to myself. Well... almost. I get to hang here, but from time-to-time I get to hang out with my best bud and nanny Alex. So far it's been pretty awesome... I'm sure I'll take advantage of the situation as much as possible. Extra dog treats... maybe an extra few nuggets in the foodbowl at dinner... the usual.

Tim and Kimberly come back tomorrow, so it'll be back to reality then. I did hear that they have some special plans for my Thankgiving meal (my first ever!). We'll have to deal with that in a future post...

Have I mentioned before that I like to rock the Doggles from time to time? Like I tell the ladies at the dog park... nothing completes a look quite like the proper accessory.

So, the weather is starting to chill down a bit... I might have to do some shopping for some winter wear. I'm thinking a cashmere hoodie. My skin and fur are rather senstive to synthetics, and of course I deserve the luxury.

By the way, since many of you have asked... no, I did not recieve the diamond for my burfday. I'm not disappointed. Much.

So on Friday night I had some peeps over. This is me and Dr. Oth. His name is really Dan Roth... droth... hence, "Dr. Oth." Clever, no?

WELL. I enter this contest - much to my displeasure, mind you - in order to win myself a boatload of dog treats and other fancy gear. I even make sure that a certain someone (cough - cough- KIMBERLY!!) is on the panel. I should have it totally in the bag... an ace in the hole, right???

Wrongo, oh loyal readers.... WRONG-oh. Turns out some other pug shows up in the very same outfit. Now, rather than run away embarassed like the little minx should have done, the two of us enter the same contest. Needless to say, even my ethically questionable tactics didn't win the day... or the dog treats.

I'd have to say... all in all, Halloween number one is a big ol' disappointment...

Hey check out my burfday cake! It was made by the nice people at Doggie Style... peanut butter and carob frosting on a cake made for pups! I ate it like Kimberly would... frosting first. The cake was eventually wrestled away from me because it was apparently the size of my head. Apparently that means it was too much for me to eat in one sitting. Considering I finally got my... ahhh, how should I put it... my gastro-intestinal tract in order... well, maybe it was for the best.

Thanks again to everyone who has helped me enjoy the celebration of year one of my life. Next big celebration is December 12th, which marks the one year anniversary of being stolen away from my brothers and sisters in exchange for cold hard cash...

Sure, i didn't get the $77,000 diamond or the DVD of Wesley Snipes' greatest performance ("Always bet on black!!"). But still... I got a friggin BOATLOAD of treats. Greenies were just the beginning. Special thanks to Chuck for the pictured treat, Marianne and Chris for the specialized pimp bag o' treats, Isabelle for the bone, Marla for the PIMP lobster, Uncle Alex for the doggie ice cream (my first ice cream EVER!), Kelly for the Mr. Pugsley's biscuits, Heather and Brett for the doggie cigars, and to grandma and grandpa (as opposed to g-ma and g-pa... totally different) for the replacement Octy. My Burf-day list

Ahh... this picture harkens back memories of my youth. Reminds my that someone has a birthday coming up... Now, I know y'all are coming to the party. I'd like to point out a few select items from my Amazon.com wishlist for your edification.

(1) The $76,590 loose diamond. Ok, I recognize this one is a little pricey, but I in no way expect anyone to buy this. Instead, I think it would be best as a group gift... split it up a few ways to defray costs.

(2) The doggie "companion" DVDs. Both Lassie and Benji are hot. I don't want any backtalk. And if you think a Snoopy DVD is gonna cut it, you're sorely mistaken.
(3) The Black iPod Nano. Like Wesley Snipes says in Passenger 57... always bet on black! Hmmm. Come to think of it, toss that flick into the cart as well. Wesley Snipes is harsh, yo. Like Danny Gans style.

(4) I expect this from Paris herself (she and I go way back), but given her recent split with other lame Paris, she may be too distraught to make the party. Someone better get me the leash and collar set from her collection.
Okay... that ought to do it. Shop early, shop often. It's not every day a pug with a blog has a one year birthday!

Double Dogpark Day

Yeah it was a triple-d day today. Hit the dogpark in the AM with Kimberly and the PM with Tim... I think I've run all of the restlessness out of my system from their "away time" as I now refer to their Mexico trip.

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention pug meetup day from Sunday. Here's some foxy little chiquita inquiring about me. I'll bet the conversation went something like this...

"Um... burf! So, you know that good lookin' pug over there with the spiked collar, right? What's his name? What!? Louis the Pug!! Ohhh, he's famous! Here's my number... make sure he calls me. Okay... so Tim had some friends down from NY visiting and did this great BBQ today while watching some exceedingly lame football games... alas the Bills were not on, which I blame as the reason for their defeat. Of course I'm a Bills fan since I was born in the Cha-Cha, but you knew that.

Anyways, here was the math. Three people... six burgers. Guess how many the puppy got? No, this is not some newfangled SAT question, it's the story of deprivation. I got jack. Nada. Zilch. Zip. Training again

So I'm back on a strict regime of training... a walk to the much better dogpark (who knew it was there the whole time?) and a loooong run and wrestle with the classy dogs that live over by the embassies. Anyways, when I get home the training continues. remember when I was in puppy school and kicked some butt? Well, I need some refresher courses it seems. I'm back taking Sit 101 and Stay 202... these are crazy three credit courses. Stay even has a 2 credit lab, which proves to tax my social schedule, but at least I score some sweeeeeet Mr. Pugsly peanut butter dog treats out the deal.

So, the moral of the story is... education is a good thing. Stay in school kids!

Dude, I may never leave. After abadonment by Tim and Kimberly I have found myself in the care of some nice people and their kids... I am sooooo exhausted! I can run around and pee wherever I want, including on cool rugs with some dude named Ganesha on 'em. I understand he's the "remover of all obstacles." Hopefully that includes dog urine. Hmmm... guess that wasn't so nice of me... oh well. I hear I'm going back tomorrow morning, but this whole Hamptons lifestyle suits me juuust fine.

Ok, so I've been away for a few days... it's because I've been busy. I have a big announcement.
I'm getting the band back together.
I've procured some funding as you can see, and I've contated all of the members, except for poor buzzsaw, our much missed 5th drummer. We're auditioning new drummers ala Rock Star: INXS, but I have a sneaky feeling it's gonna be Bonnard. No, it has nothing to do with the curse and my continuing animosity towards him. No, really. He just wails on the skins yo.

Anyways, upon announcement, Tim and I had a bit of excitement.

So, early Friday morning I decided to get up for my regular 4 am feeding (what... you don't wake up people, demand to be fed and then go back to sleep for 6 hours?). Problem... the food kept coming out the wrong way. Like a lot. Not be gross or anything, but I became reverse full... a status that I am unaccustomed to.

Tim and Kimberly took me out for a walk at 4:15 after calling somebody to see if reverse-full is a good thing... I got the impression it wan't becuase I've never seen Tim fully awake at 4:15, and when he's up he's usually muttering bad language about my eating habits. Anyways, we went for a walk and I felt kinda oogey again and painted the sidewalk with what little remained inside the ol' stomach. So, 7 reverse feedings later, we're off in the car for a ride.

When we went back to that place where they took away my manhood, I suddenly felt a lot better. Yep, no need to go in there... let's go home, huh? Who's with me!? So, for everyone out there... if you're feeling ill, take a look at this picture here and I'll bet you suddenly feel a lot better too...

Man, did I like getting breakfast after that!

Sometimes it pays to be a dog.

Today was spent lounging about... resting from the big dogpark goodness of Saturday. To say it was hot is a bit of an understatement, so I've been needing the extra bit of shuteye that comes with life as a world famous blogging pug.

Speaking of hot, I had a nice run in today with a sweet little bulldog named Margaret. I'll leave you with her stunning figure as we bid adieu to this fun little weekend...

Since it was bring your owner to work day (A.K.A. "Friday") it was time for me to hunker down and get some serious work done. While Tim was sitting around a table with my Friday friends Kelly and Adam, they seemed to be enjoying a fine conversation about... I don't know... something. I think it had to do with that lady who's retiring. Anyways, I was far too busy making heavy breathing noises and scratching randomly at walls to get all that involved.

I guess they recorded it too... something called a podcast? Add it to my ever-expanding list of talents!

Hit the dogpark afterwards, but everyone was a little lethargic. This summer heat's getting to all of us. Dog days of summer my furry butt!

I just want to assure my loyal readers that rumors are true... I have suffered a minor injury to my right paw. As you can see, it is still quite intact and the bleeding has stopped. I managed to use the pillow on the couch for that...

Preliminary diagnosis by the medical genius that is Tim (a lawyer by profession who watched a lot of Lassie episodes to gain keen veterinarian insight) concludes the paw, "isn't that bad." Quite the relief to hear that from a professional.

Ok, so this isn't the roasted chicken I had tonight... it's just some picture I found on the Internet. Still, it looks an awful lot like the chicken Tim made for dinner tonight. The smell was sooo good, that I decided to use this thing I learned called a Jedi Mind Trick... it was in some movies. Anyways, before you could say, "These aren't the droids you're looking for," I had a piece of chicken to nibble on. Sure I had to make him think that he got me to sit and stay and all that other crap... but it was really my Jedi Mind Trick that made him do it. Thank you Mr. Silent Bob and Mr. Yoda... you scored me some serious yum-yums tonight!!

Whassup everyone? Sorry I wasn't my usual self posting this weekend. As you can see, I scored this magic plastic card and found out people would give me all sorts of things if I gave it to them to borrow for a few seconds! How cool is that!? I gave it to the airline people... did you know they let dogs in first class? They said I should go to this dog-friendly resort in some place called "Hawaii." It was nice. They took my card A LOT but they always gave it back after they zipped it through their fun little machine.

I tell ya... this little card opened up a world of possibilities. Thank you Bank of America!

To them I say, first... what does incalculable mean? After that, I run around in a circle chasing my curly tail for a minute. What a revoltin' development.

All I do is bite a few pant legs, chase a few cats, nip at Kimberly's ankle, bark (okay... yip) a lot, and otherwise act like a lovable pug and look what it gets me. The hole. I got sent to the hole.

I used to think there were appeals processes that a pup such as myself could take advantage of, but I am now coming to the realization that this totalitarian regime doesn't believe in the principle of a fair and humane system of jurisprudence. Shame!! How quickly we forget the sacrifices of our founding forefathers just one day after Independence Day!!

After that I was so pooped (literally and figuratively) that I spent the rest of the day in the hotel room. The nice people kept trying to change the room and then give Kimberly some wine or something for her birthday, but I couldn't reach the door handle to let them in. They really need to lower those knobs to a pug-friendly level in these places. Maybe when my girl Paris takes over the Hilton chain, she'll think dog-first...

So, we're going up to some place called "Canada" this week for Kimberly's birthday. I'm not sure what that means, but as long as this is a place where they respect their pups... well, I'm cool with that.

I heard a rumor they have a special type of bacon too... apparently Canadian bacon is a fine delicacy enjoyed by many Canadians, and I would have to assume, their dogs. I totally respect that.

Of course driving such distances can become very fatiguing. I need a bit of a headrest from time to time...

Thanks to some advocacy group making a unilateral decision that was totally welcomed by the business community at-large (ha!), I was able to bring Tim to work today.

Okay, okay... as most of my diehard blog readers know, I always drag his sorry butt to work with me on Fridays. It's tradition. I got to meet some of the new interns today... I think I made an impression, although I always have my favorites swing by to say hello. What can I say, I'm a studly little pup.

Forgot to mention that I got myself a new collar the other day... check out the spikes on this pimp dog now!!

Can't talk too much tonight... too tired from making dinner for everyone to celebraye Tim's return from the west coast. I'm more of a grill dog, myself, but until the 'rents get one for the back patio I'm gonna have to pan sear their chops. Heathens.

I made a nice pear chutney too. Figure you want a nice sweet-hot thing going on, so for my loyal readers, here's the recipe.

Recipe-shmesapie. Take a can of pears (not that pansy light kind... get the full sugar kind) and put it in a pot. Add a bunch of red pepper flakes, some garlic and some black pepper. Let the syrup reduce until it's nice and thick. Put it on your chops... mmmmmm-mmmmm, good! This pup's one fine chef for being 8 1/2 months old! Still single ladies!

Since I've been acting out a bit lately, I think I need to revisit some of the places where I like to blow off steam. Y'know, give Kimberly a break for a few minutes... then I'll go back to my regularly scheduled anarchy inducement.

My favorite neighborhood hang is Larry's Lounge (that's me at one of the outdoor tables on the left). There, I'm able to relax and focus on the finer things in life. The outstanding service even includes my own personal water bowl. Talk about dog friendly... not a dogist in sight! I think I should let you in on a little secret though... none of the people there are named Larry. Shhhhhhh!

Just noticed we passed the 800 mark... thank you faithful readers! We're mere days away from 1000 (and then I'll probably get less excited with every 100 hits... I'm greedy like that).

I tell ya, it never ends. I was basically accused last night of being a little devil. It seems a puppy can no longer bark at cats (even annoying ones), snatch skirts off of beds, bite pant legs, or yip randomly without being accused of being a spawn of some malevolent biblical entity. Now, I'm not naming any names, but the perpetrator of such slanderous characterizations has a name that rhymes with Zimberly. Hmmmm... who could it be??
